Brazilian accused of violence
Supreme Court of Catalonia turned down the Brazilian defender Dani Alves in release on bail.
The player’s side requested that Alves be released from custody, replacing it with the seizure of his passport and an electronic bracelet. However, the Barcelona court rejected this proposal and left Dani in a pre-trial detention center until the trial.
Recall that the Brazilian is accused of sexual harassment. The defender was taken into custody without the right to bail. After the arrest of Alves, his last club – the Mexican Pumas – terminated the contract with the player.
The football player denies his guilt. In turn, the prosecution announced new details – allegedly Alves raped a 23-year-old girl in the toilet of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30.
Dani Alves is known for his performances for Barcelona, with which he became the champion of Spain six times, won the Champions League three times and many other trophies. Also, the player is the record holder of the Brazilian national team in the history of the World Cup.
