Dyukov did not rule out that the RFU may address law enforcement with a statement against referee Matyunin

President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Diukov talked about the intention of the president of the RPL Ashot Khachaturyants apply to law enforcement with an application for a football referee Alexei Matyunin based on the results of reviewing his actions in the Tinkoff RPL 26th round match between “Khimki” and “Wings of the Soviets” (4:1).

The RFU Expert Arbitration Commission has admitted that referee Alexei Matyunin made two errors in the match between Krylya Sovetov and Khimki. The referee wrongly awarded a penalty at the gates of the Samarans and also wrongly counted a goal at their gates. The media reported that after the match, the specialist failed a polygraph test.

“The check is underway,” Dyukov told reporters. I can’t comment until it’s finished. The referee was found to have made numerous errors. If there is a reason to contact [правоохранительные] authorities, then this call will be made. We will fight dishonesty in football.

– Matyunin accused Khachaturyants of having links with the Wings of the Soviets. Will there be an appeal before the ethics committee?

We have no such facts. So far, there is no reason to go to the ethics committee.
