Liverpool lost at home to Real Madrid by three goals
Liverpool head coach Jürgen Klopp commented loss to Real Madrid (2:5) in the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.
“The start in our performance was outstanding. This was the real us. It was perfect – exactly the way we wanted to play. The first half was good, except for the goals conceded. At the first goal, we played a little passively in front, and the second goal was just a blunder.
“The way we defended on the third goal is no good. This is not possible in a game against a team that is excellent in counterattacks. We have not been able to return to the previous track. We had to play like in the first half, all 95 minutes.”
“We will go there and play football. It will be a big test, but first we have to play in the Premier League and make sure we learn from this match.”
“I think Carlo thinks everything is decided here. Honestly, I think so too at the moment. But in three weeks, everything can change. We will go there to win. That’s all I can say”.
The return match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will take place on March 15 in Madrid. The game starts at 22:00 Kyiv time.
