The defender of the Ukrainian national team gave an extensive interview to the press service of the club from Liverpool.

Vitaliy Mykolenko believes he can learn a lot from new Everton coach Sean Dyche. The Ukrainian defender especially likes the discipline established in the team by a specialist.

Mikolenko also said that he is proud to play for Everton and believes that the teams at the moment are out of place in the standings.

“I love Everton. How can I not love? Proud to play for this club.

On the first day of my arrival here, I was welcomed by everyone. To be honest, I was amazed. I remember when everyone greeted me at the training ground: “Okay, boy,” “Are you okay, son?” It means a lot to me.

I love my colleagues, every single one of them. Also staff and fans. I think they respect me, and I have incredible respect for them.

Love the city of Liverpool too. I like to walk sometimes, enjoy restaurants. Things are a little different now, but I loved it when for the first month or two I could go out and nobody knew who I was.

The coach loves discipline and that’s something I’ve always considered important as well. For a defender, this is number one, in my opinion.

You have to be strong, control every moment of the game. However, this is important in every part of the field, not just in defense.

I know he can make me beautiful. He has different ideas, you can always learn something from a new coach, which I do now. I have a good feeling.

We know there is hard work ahead. During my last 18 months at Dynamo, I worked with Mircea Lucescu, who is also a great coach. In each lesson we ran 7-8 kilometers.

Such training is difficult, but useful. You will feel the advantage when you can run as hard in the last 20 minutes as you did in the first 20 minutes.

We know that we are not where we are now. This is not a position in which Everton deserve to be. We must be the best and we will fight for it,” Mikolenko told the Everton press service.

Remember that Everton are 16th in the Premier League standings after 23 games played. Sean Dyche took over the club in January of this year.
