After the break, Inter scored the winning goal
Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi commented victory in the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League With Porto (1:0).
“We played a great match against a physically strong and technical team. It’s a pity that in the first half we missed a number of opportunities when we could take the lead. In the second half, Porto made a very dangerous counterattack, but Skrinjar and Onana played beyond praise. Then the substitutions helped us a lot.”
“In the first half we should have been quicker in passing. It was necessary to start building attacks better and faster. But Porto was great at applying pressure. I had to pick up the pace and play the ball faster.”
Recall that Inter took advantage of the numerical majority and got the victory thanks to a goal by Romel Lukaku in the 86th minute.
The second leg between Inter and Porto will take place on March 14 in Portugal. The fight will start at 22:00 Kyiv time.
