Potter: I received letters wishing me and my family dead.

Chelsea head coach spoke about the dissatisfaction of the fans with the team’s performance

Chelsea head coach Graham Potter He said that he had received letters with death threats to his family.

“As much support as I have, I have had several not-so-pleasant e-mails wishing me to die and my children to die. Obviously, this is unpleasant to receive.

“The higher you go, the more pressure there is on you as a person. I could say that I don’t care, but everyone will understand that I’m lying. Everyone cares what people think, because we are programmed for social connections.

“Ask my family how life has turned out for me and for them. It wasn’t pleasant at all. I understand that the fans go home and they are annoyed that the team is not winning, but I assure you, my life for the last three, four months has been pretty mediocre.”

“I just have to put it aside. I think it’s just a one-time incident. I don’t attach much importance to it.”

Earlier it was reported that the management of Chelsea still trusts Potter and does not plan to fire the coach. The Blues have only won once in their last 10 matches.

Recall that in the last match Chelsea minimally lost to Southampton (0:1). Ukrainian midfielder of the Blues Mikhail Mudryk entered the field in the middle of the second half, replacing Noni Madueke. The Ukrainian was not marked by effective actions.

Potter’s team remains in 10th position in the Premier League standings. Chelsea will play Tottenham Hotspur on 26 February next.
