Villarreal footballer Anton Yefremov told how he learns news about Russia in Spain.
Efremov joined the Villarreal Academy at the age of 16. In Russia, the player played football at a school in Nizhny Novgorod, then played for Lokomotiv Moscow.
I rarely watch (YouTube). Basically – my games, I sort out errors. And usually I watch TV, some news. There is little Russian news here, as all news channels have been cut. It may be because of the sanctions. But I always follow the news from Russia, on the Internet. I also watch Soviet films.
– What is missing from what was in Russia?
– When my parents come to see me, I always ask my mother for cottage cheese. It is not available at all in Spanish stores. And so, of course, I missed my relatives, my friends, I haven’t been to Russia since the summer,” the 19-year-old defender told .
In February, Efremov signed a new contract with Villarreal until the summer of 2026.
At the moment, Russian teams and clubs are not allowed to participate in tournaments under the auspices of UEFA and FIFA due to the situation in Ukraine.
