Athletistic / Football. Spartak reached the semi-finals of the Russian Cup by defeating Lokomotiv in the second leg of the quarter-finals. It’s a shame, but brilliant football will take a bit of a back seat. Even six goals scored by teams for two will not be enough not to talk about the controversial decisions of referee Sergei Ivanov. It was he who became the protagonist of the fiery derby.

Immediately agree that “Spartacus” was better. The Reds-Whites are determined to go further, sending Loko on the Way of the Regions. Nevertheless, it should be noted that all key decisions were made in favor of Spartak, so Lokomotiv’s outrage is understandable.

Lokomotiv suffered in both matches

It turns out that Loko suffered a week ago. Then the referee canceled Stanislav Magkeev’s goal due to offside, which he considered active and not passive. From the point of view of the letter of the law, everything was fine, but the aftertaste remained.

Now Ivanov has prepared quite a judicial dish, from which “Loco” will have to stay away for a long time.

The first controversial moment came at the end of the first half with the score 1:1. In the 42nd minute, Anton Miranchuk fell after contact with Daniil Khlusevich. Sadness? “Loco” demanded to point the finger.

Of course there was contact. But was it enough for the 11m? Well-known referee Igor Fedotov thinks not.

Lokomotiv opposed the “struggle”

Perhaps the most outrageous episode happened in the second half, when Spartak scored and took the lead. Nair Tiknizyan was waiting for the ball to leave the field, but Mikhail Ignatov rammed it. In the fight, Tiknizyan found himself on the lawn, and Ignatov continued the combination and brought Roman Zobnin into a shock position, who fired at the gate.

Maybe the judge should have whistled and not brought the case to it. A fault in an attack in such cases is recorded in 7 out of 10 cases. Why did the referee end up bringing it to such an outcome? Not clear.

“Ivanov brings problems for himself. It was easier to whistle and finish the attack. It’s a violation of the rules, the Loko player tried to cover the ball and the Spartak player got into it hung, actively used his hands in the fight, finally turned the opponent over and took the ball away. This is not the bar of martial arts, ”quotes the championship Igor Fedotov.

With Fedotov, former FIFA referee Sergei Yegorov disagreed.

“In my opinion, the right decision is to continue the game. It’s a man’s game – football, not ballet. I support the chief referee and the VAR judge. Today the defenders are used to the fact that they hardly stretch a hand on them and they become amorphous like amoebae. But again, it’s men’s game,” Yegorov told RB Sport.

Lokomotiv were extremely unhappy with this decision. Loko board chairman Yuri Nagornykh has made it clear that he will seek justice.

“We have bodies in the RFU which should settle the refereeing for this game. We have questions about the refereeing. Will Lokomotiv apply to ESC? Most likely we will. The refereeing has did it affect the outcome of the match?

I think we have to figure out what kind of sport we do – freestyle wrestling or football?” he said.

Apotheosis of the show – The three penalties of Promes

The end of the meeting turned into a real spectacle. Ivanov in stoppage time imposed two penalties against Lokomotiv. The first raised no doubt, but the second could be argued. The ball hit the hand of the player “Locomotive”, which spread into the tackle. So you have to name 11 meters in such situations or not?! It seems that even the judges do not know the answer to this question.

But Ivanov was loyal to Spartak that night. Quincy Promes took the penalty twice. Either way, he lost the duel to Ilya Lantratov. However, Ivanov and his assistants noticed that the goalkeeper in the second case left the tape before the kick. The verdict was cruel – Promes got a third chance, despite outrage from the Loko players. He succeeded on the third try.

It’s even scary to imagine what would have happened if this episode had tournament value!

Well, “Spartak” goes further, and “Locomotive” goes the Way of the Regions. Ivanov made sure the game will be remembered for a long time!
