Sudakov: We want the championship and tune in to every match

Shakhtar are two points behind the leaders of Dnipro-1

Midfielder Miner Georgy Sudakov commented on the last match with Minay (4:1) in Ukrainian Premier League.

“Now there are very important matches, we understand our situation in the standings. Now we are at a distance of two points from the competitor, and it was five, so we only needed a victory and the team was maximally tuned in to the game. I’ve said before: it doesn’t matter if it’s a Champions League or league match – we’re constantly going out and getting ready. Yes, it’s not easy without fans after you played in the presence of 30,000 people the match for reaching the 1/8 finals of the Europa League. But we did our job, earning three points.”

“With every game I feel more confident. I am still a young player, I learn every match. When you play 120 minutes, you definitely learn something, you reach a new level. I hope there will be many more fights in my career, but I move from game to game.

“I have already said that everyone understands the current situation. We strive only to win in every game, and now we are mentally preparing for Metalist 1925. We understand the importance of this match, because there will be no room for error. We want the championship, and all the players on the team want only victories.”

Sudakov converted a penalty in a duel with Minay. In total, the 20-year-old midfielder has 2 goals and 7 assists in Shakhtar’s 22 matches in all competitions of the season.

The Pitmen are on the second position in the UPL standings – they are two points behind Dnipro-1. In the next round Shakhtar will play Metalist 1925 away on March 5.
