Patrick de Paula suffers knee injury and should only return in 2024

After the confrontation against FlamengoO Botafogo will not be able to count on Paula’s Patrick for the coming months. The midfielder left the field with pain in his left knee and, after undergoing imaging tests, an injury was detected that will require a surgical procedure. Thus, the player should not play in 2023.

According to the note released by Botafogo on social media, the athlete’s recovery will take the rest of the season. “Patrick is being assisted by the Club’s Medical Department and appreciates the messages of support received in recent days”, stated the publication. So far, the club has not disclosed the type of injury suffered by the player.

Still upset about what happened, Patrick de Paula went to his social networks and thanked the support he received from the fans. “I would like to stop by to thank you for all the expressions of support and solidarity I have received since last Saturday. That was not the plan I had for 2023, but there is no purpose without going through the process”said the Botafogo midfielder.
