Krasnodar student Yakimov told how he quit football for three years due to burnout

Student of the midfield “Krasnodar” Vyacheslav Yakimov who plays on loan for Fakel, told Sport24 about his burnout.

– I am 17-18 years old, I am in good standing at the Krasnodar Academy. But I don’t enjoy football. I understand that I will never be happy if I continue to live like this. We have to change something, find a new vocation.

The decision to quit football is not momentary, it was cumulative. I did a burnout. I don’t know if you felt like that, but I was so tired that I just didn’t want to do what I seemed to like professionally.

I went to training without any desire. At one point, I just wasn’t ready to work twice a day, to dedicate myself to this work. Something adolescent tore, the soul asked for more freedom, time for itself. This lack of freedom put pressure on me and exacerbated the desire to stop playing football.

At the academy, it’s the same: every day, early rises for training, constant travel. In the evening, apathy sets in. I didn’t want anything at all. Every day they force you, they force you – and you’re sick of it. So I gave up football for three years,” Yakimov said.

This season, the 25-year-old has made 14 appearances and provided 1 assist.
