Beppe SalaMayor of Milan, as he put it in his podcast on Spotify on the question of the new stadium in Milan: “When Inter and Milan came to me to start talking about the stadium, I immediately suggested that they start a massive restructuring of the San Siro, being absolutely ready to transfer ownership of the stadium to them; however, I have to give credit to the teams for telling me very clearly that this was an option they couldn’t even consider. Then it cannot be denied that the route took a long time for both the administrative procedure and technical checks and because at the beginning the teams asked for volumes (i.e. the possibility of building hotels, offices, shopping centers) that are incompatible with the rules of the municipality. Of course, to be honest, we can’t ignore this part of the city council, even my political side, a new stadium was never wanted, especially if it meant sacrificing the old stadium.
