The CAS commented on the decision on the Zenit lawsuit at the RFU

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), at the request of , declared that it had not satisfied Zenit Saint Petersburg’s appeal against the decision of the Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (FTC RFU) to disqualify three team players during the Russian Cup home game against Spartak Moscow.

On November 27, 2022, Zenit beat Spartak on penalties (0-0, 4-2 on penalties). At the end of regulation time on the field, a massive fight broke out between the players of the team. The main referee of the meeting, Vladimir Moskalev, ruled out Zenit players Wilmar Barrios, Rodrigao and Malcolm. Alexander Sobolev, Alexander Selikhov and Shamar Nicholson received Spartak red cards.

The appeal lodged by JSC FC Zenit on 01/02/2023 against the decision of the RFU Appeal Board of 26/12/2022 No. 25/2022 (Disputed Decision) was dismissed, and the disputed decision was been confirmed, CAS reported.
