Previously, Evgeny set a record achievement on a normal springboard
Ukrainian Evgeny Marusyak entered the top 30 in diving with big springboard on World Cup 2023 in Slovenian Planica.
Evgeny made it to the main competitions along with another Ukrainian Vitaliy Kalinichenko. Marusyak, after the first jump, took 29th place, thanks to which he reached the final part, Kalinichenko did not make it to the top 30, taking 38th place.
In the second attempt, Marusyak jumped 125 meters and moved up to 27th place. This was a new record for Ukrainians at the World Championships on a large springboard. The previous achievement belonged to Vladimir Boshchuk, who became 28th at the 2009 ChS.
The Slovenian Timi Zaits became the world champion, having twice overcome the mark of 137 meters. The silver award went to the Japanese Reyu Kobayashi, the bronze went to David Kubacki from Poland.
Recall that Marusyak previously updated the Ukrainian record for performances on a normal springboard. At the ES-2023 in Planica, Evgeny took 17th place, showing a jump of 103 meters.
