Eddie Howe, coach of Newcastle, spoke about the club’s final stretch of the season and did not want to set a goal for the team, focusing only on winning games
O newcastle been having a great season so far, fighting directly for a place in Champions League and reaching the end of English League Cupwhere he lost to Manchester United. But the coach of the team, Eddie Howesaid that the defeat is behind and the team will fight in the final rounds to win all the games.
Difficult to answer. I don’t know what would be left for us (about the Champions League dispute). We have 15 games to go and we want to try and win as much as we can and then see where we end up in the table.”
Newcastle finished last Premier League in 11th place, however, with the investments for the season, the team is currently in fifth place, but with two games less in relation to the other teams. The coach stated that he does not have a defined objective, as this could harm the players due to the pressure.
“I’m not going to sit here now and set a goal. I don’t think it would do any good for players’ health. Internally, I’m coordinating as best I can for a positive ending.”
Eddie Howe has already revolutionized Newcastle football and changed the game, leaving aside the boom and counterattacks to take control of the matches and almost always create more chances than the opponent. A classification for some European competition is almost certain, it remains to be seen whether it will be the Champions, Europa League or the Conference.
