Dnipro missed the victory at the end of the meeting with Alexandria
Mentor SC Dnepr-1 Oleksandr Kucher remained disappointed with the outcome of the meeting with Alexandria (2:2) in the 16th round of the UPL.
“Now it’s hard to say [почему потеряли очки]. We started well, had a lot of chances and scored a goal, but after that I don’t know what happened to the guys who started making mistakes and just giving the ball to the opponent.”
“Then we scored the second goal, but at the end of the game, apparently, we didn’t have enough experience and class, because winning 2-1 at the end of the match and running into an opponent’s counterattack is, of course, incomprehensible to me. It was necessary to foul somewhere, tactically stop the opponent and move to the defense.
“In general, the game was dynamic and the fans liked it, because the two teams were striving to win. Alexandria has a good team, a good coach, so let’s wish them good luck.”
Dnipro-1 remains the leader of the UPL standings, ahead of Shakhtar by three points. At the same time, the Pitmen played one match less.
In the next round, SC Dnipro-1 will face Dynamo on March 12.
