“Legend is too strong a word. It’s good that I’ve been playing for Akhmat for so many years, last season I was presented with a commemorative soccer ball for 100 matches, and now there are more than 130. I’m glad the club made me trust.
If I’m not mistaken, in the history of Akhmat, only 18 players have reached the 100 game mark for the club. So I’m honored to be one of them. God forbid everything is fine, I will continue to play and be useful. In winter, I extended the contract, the next objective is 200 games, and then it will be possible to swing at 300 (smile).
When will the stadium fill up?
– I told our newcomer Milos Shatara that when I made my debut at Akhmat Arena 5 and a half years ago, the arena was already full during the warm-up and the emotions were as if you were participating at the World Cup. Before Ufa, President Akhmat Magomed Daudov celebrated his birthday, and we also managed to congratulate him on the football field. So events like this are motivation for us.
– How many matches does Akhmat need to start the season?
– Hard to say. We had a very good training camp, we did a great job. We won the Russian Cup in Ufa, won the championship home game. Little by little we are getting back in shape, and the next matches will only be better.
– The head coach said no one in Akhmat thinks about the top three and joked that you can only win chocolate medals. Doesn’t the team dream of being in the top three?
