The author of the first goal scored in the game of Kyiv Dynamo – Ingulets Alexander Kozak told how his team was preparing for the start of the second round of the championship of Ukraine, about his experiences in the match with the white-blues and the innovations of Sergei Kovalets.
— With what thoughts did you go to the first match in 2023?
– We have been preparing for the match with Dynamo for a very long time. Even during the training camp in Turkey, the opponent was very carefully dismantled. Our coaches went to watch Dynamo matches at the training camp, they showed us everything on video. We knew perfectly well what to expect from each of the Dynamo Kyiv players. We went into the locker room after the game with the people of Kiev, and it seems that we are still at the training camp. Somewhere they have not yet rebuilt that official matches have begun. So far, we have not yet realized that we have beaten Dynamo in an official match.
— How did you beat Dynamo?
“Our game plan worked. We wanted the central defenders of the hosts to start attacks through their central midfielders. We had to take the balls away and run counterattacks. And so it happened – there were two selections, they ran out to attack and scored two goals.
Your goal was extremely important. So right?
– Of course, many factors came together. My relatives were on the stands of the stadium: dad, wife and brother. I remember how earlier in Kropyvnytskyi I scored a goal against Dynamo, but it was not counted. Now, after the goal, I was worried again: they are watching VAR, whether they will count it or not. This is my first goal for Dynamo.

– Sasha, did you have any worries in the second half, because the people of Kiev rushed to win back?
– I will not say that the hosts created some kind of danger at our gates. During the break, we discussed everything with our coaching staff. We understood that a bulk would go to our gates. I think we made it.
– What has your new head coach Sergey Kovalets changed?
– Sergey Ivanovich communicates a lot with the guys. Psychology is very important. It is important that our guys take to the field, do not worry, and it does not matter who you play against. Here is the credo of Sergei Kovalets. It is important to enjoy the game.

“It is necessary to move away from this victory. We need to tune in to the next fight against Metalist. We know that we have a good calendar ahead of us. You can take points. It is clear that everyone wants to climb higher in the standings.
— A question about the lawn in Petrovo. In November, there were many complaints about the lawn of your stadium. Where will you host opponents in the next matches?
– I don’t know yet. Probably in Petrovo. I would like to play all home matches at the Dynamo stadium named after Valery Lobanovsky. For the beginning of March, there is an excellent lawn. Although, as I heard, Dynamo are dissatisfied with the quality of the football field.
