Former captain of the Russian national football team Roman Chirokov told that from today he started working as the manager of the Saturn Football Club.
Previously, this position in the Ramenskoye club was held by Konstantin Klimov.
Shirokov defended the colors of Saturn when he was a footballer, in total he played 24 games for the club in all tournaments, scored 4 goals.
Saturn currently plays in the second league. Shirokov, who turns 41 in July, announced his retirement from the game in 2016. Shirokov won Russian championship gold three times (setting times with Zenit and once with CSKA), became the owner of the UEFA Cup, the UEFA Super Cup, the Russian Cup. As a member of the Russian national team, he became the bronze medalist of the 2008 European Championship.
