Former captain of the Russian national football team Shirokov started working as a director “Saturn” Monday.
– When the team played in the RPL for eleven years, everyone wants to come back after a while. Also, all the infrastructure is here. Many Premier League clubs don’t have the same base as Ramenskoye even now.
One of the main tasks is to recreate the system with the current RBM. I think that in the very near future we will sign an agreement with the school, in the future it could be integrated into a single structure. In addition, one of the main tasks is to recruit at the expense of local guys. The UOR lets out a lot of players who play in the first league. They could be useful here too.
It is clear that nothing will be done with the snap of a finger, but priority must be given to its players. Therefore, I would like to see, in addition to the RBM, that the structure would include all local schools that would train under a single system and after a period of time begin to provide full staff for the core team. Including for the UOR, where elite football training is provided. We have been watching the guys closely for two or three months, there are some very good guys in the older ages who can be attracted to the second league.
– Are there any regrets that the appointment took place after the end of the candidacy campaign?
– The team is not solving global problems this season. Therefore, there is a normal working situation, when it is possible to see everything calmly. Analyze who is needed. And since there is a task to climb the board as high as possible, for this you need to win more often. I saw the last three matches. In fact, it all depends on the guys. If they want to move on and do it with us, they can show up. To do this, there are twelve matches and a training process, which will also be given special attention.
– Have you already communicated with the coaches and the team?
– Not yet. There was no reason, but now, if possible, I will fly to training camp. The team has two very interesting matches on the 11th and 15th. The question is whether there is such an opportunity, because the financial question is not the last. We will also decide, some partnerships will be formalized.
