Brazil bids to host 2027 Women’s World Cup

In an interview with TV Brasil’s Sem Censura program, Ana Moser, Minister of Sports, stated that Brazil is a candidate to host the 2027 Women’s World Cup

We have until March to express the intention and until May to fill in the specifications. We are talking with CBF and host cities to see what ways to seek this chance to bring the Cup”he said.

In an interview with the program Uncensoredfrom the “TVBrazil”, the minister stated that it is the country’s desire to host such an important competition for women’s sports. In addition, she revealed that conversations are already underway, aiming to bring the World Cup to Brazilian territory.

At first, Ana Moser said that the first conversations take place between the Ministry of Sport and the CBF. “We are talking with the partners, with the CBF and designing a possibility for Brazil to claim the host of the Cup. We are going to make this move to try to bring the World Cup to Brazil in 2027.”said the minister.

If Brazil manages to establish itself as the host country of the next Women’s World Cup, it will be the first time that the competition is held here. However, when the men’s World Cups are held, this would be the third edition to take place on Brazilian soil, after the tournaments played in 1950 and 2014.

In 2023, the Women’s World Cup will be hosted on the other side of the world, in Australia and New Zealand. The competition starts on the 20th of July and the grand final also has a set date, on the 20th of August. A SelectionBrazilianin turn, seeks its first title in the history of the tournament.
