Englishman Scott Parker is on the verge of being fired from Belgian club Brugge.

Scott Parker may not have been head coach of Belgian Club Brugge for long. In the near future, the English specialist should lose his position as an advisor to the club, played by the Ukrainian striker Roman Yaremchuk.

According to Nieuwsblad, the team’s management could make a move after a series of failures at Brugge under the 42-year-old coach.

The final decision on Parker’s resignation was made after a heavy 1-5 defeat by Benfica in the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League and elimination from the tournament.

The Englishman only took charge of Bruges at the end of December last year, replacing Karl Hoefkens at the head of the team. Under his leadership, the “black and blue” had 12 matches, scored only two wins, and drew six more games.

Alfred Schröder, who led the team to the championship in 2022, then left for Ajax, was expected to return to the post of head coach of Brugge, but was fired from the Amsterdam club in January of this year.

It should be noted that now Brugge, after 28 games played, is in fourth place in the standings of the Belgian championship, having 46 points in its asset.
