Mr Breda, two days after the match against Cagliari, returned to talk about the defeat suffered by Bari before presenting the match against Sardinians:
“We have to transfer the anger after the Bari game to the Cagliari game, we certainly did good things, but if we didn’t bring home a single point, then we should have played better. The attitude we should have should be that of a person who learns from mistakes and tries to get better. Cagliari are a very formidable team at home and they’ve never lost under Ranieri, so it’s a challenge that requires great play. We have confidence, we know what we can do well, and we understand that these things put our opponents in a difficult position; it is clear that then the interpretation must be based on the team on duty, on its characteristics, but the intensity, the team spirit and the desire to overcome difficulties must never leave us and must be constant. We know that we need to improve some aspects and interpret situations well depending on the type of match.”
The coach also analyzes the removal of Falasco, who will miss the Unipol Domus match:
“When you lose control over certain situations, it becomes clear that this is a mistake, Nicola knows this, we must not allow this to happen again. There are already difficulties in the game, if you give gifts and play with one man less, everything becomes more complicated. Other than that, everyone should be able to read the moments and know when to push or slow down, the match in Cagliari is a huge test, we want to do well, we want to go and take the points we lost against Bari, but for that we need a great match.”
More about the match against Bari:
“If you dominate the first half in terms of possession, intensity – even territorial – you have to create more situations, which doesn’t necessarily mean play, but I mean the idea and I always want to be sharp; I mean you need to create more free throws, set pieces, crosses, shots, because the more you create, the more chances you have to score. If we had scored against Bari before we were shorthanded, the situation would have been very different and we could have handled the second half differently. So we have to complain not only about the penalty episode, but also about what we had to do in advance to take the lead, because we had every chance. Having said that, we have to thank the guys for their attitude and effort, because we have made great strides in the movement of the ball and in the speed of our game.”
About the status of the team:
“The team is doing well, we had better time to recover, who spent three races in a row, the group feels good and works with the right intensity in all its elements. I thank the guys who have always been available and continue to do so; even those who have found less space – and could rightfully be less happy – always have the right attitude in training, and this is the most important thing for a coach.
