The Blue-Yellows took the lead in the 10th minute thanks to the efforts of Shoturma, who moved from the flank and shot right into the corner. However, just before the break, the Dutch bounced back after a free-kick. In the second half, Ukraine had several opportunities to snatch a victory, but the goalkeeper of the hosts played successfully.
Oleksandr Kosenko’s team previously secured first place in group 11 of the main qualifying round ahead of schedule and advanced to the elite round of selection for the 2024 World Cup. This happened thanks to a draw between Kosovo and the Netherlands in a face-to-face confrontation – 3:3.
The draw for the elite round of qualification for the 2024 World Cup will take place on July 5, 20 teams will be divided into 4 groups. The 2024 World Cup will see the group winners and play-off winners among the top four teams finishing in second place.
