Bayern knocks Messi and Mbappe out of the Champions League

As part of the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League, Bayern hosts PSG.

In Munich, at the Allianz Arena, the local Bayern met with the French PSG and tried to get a ticket to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

After the first match, which was held in Paris, the advantage was on the side of the German team, which then won a small victory. In this meeting, the Parisians could not count on Neymar, who was forced to end the season due to injury.

The Parisians started the first half of the second match more actively, as they needed to recover. Mbappe already had a moment in the first minutes, but he drove himself into an “extreme corner”, from which it was quite difficult to punch.

But in the future, teams will act without risk. For more than half an hour, Bayern hardly went into the other man’s half of the field, but PSG created a small number of chances during this period.

But in the end, the other half became more interesting. There was a Bayern moment when Musiala shot from a tight angle and Donnarumma saved his team. But the most important was the moment of PSG midfielder Vitigny.

Bayern goalkeeper Jan Sommer made a mistake trying to beat Hakimi with his feet in his own penalty area and the ball rolled towards the Portuguese, who shot into an empty goal, but Matejs de Ligt saved his team by knocking the ball over the line.

During the break immediately happened not a small event. Mukiele, who only came on as a substitute in the first half, did not appear in the second half. Instead, the young Bitshiabu played and Nagelsman immediately instructed his players that the man needed to be under pressure. And it paid off several times, including once with the first goal.

The defender under pressure gave Verratta, who was on the line his free kick, but the Italian was demolished by Goretzka and then passed to Choupo-Motinga, so it only remained to hit an empty net Verratti immediately ran to tell his compatriot – the chief referee Orsato – they had fouled him, but the judge decided that everything was within the rules.

After conceding a goal, PSG tried to attack, but in really dangerous moments for the whole half, only two headers from Sergio Ramos after Messi x a corner. But in one case, the veteran didn’t hit, and in the other, Sommer showed an impressive game.

At the same time, Bayern closed all questions in the end. And again, Verratti, however, this time he “knocked down” near the opponent of the penalty, and then a cool counterattack and a goal from Gnabry continued. In extra time, Mane also scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.

PSG was once again knocked out by a strong rival at the 1/8 final stage, while Bayern will continue their fight for the club’s main trophy.
