Our country remained in 14th place
The first matches of the 1/8 finals of the Europa League brought Ukraine 0.2 points in the UEFA rating. That is how much Shakhtar’s draw in the match against Feyenoord “cost” the country (one point earned by the Pitmen for a draw is divided by five clubs that started from Ukraine in European competitions).
This result allowed our country to gain a foothold in the 14th position in the UEFA rankings. True, it was not possible to close the gap with Switzerland, which is also represented by one team at this stage of the European tournaments. Basel also drew – with Slovan in the Conference League, and his earned point brought Switzerland 0.25 points (all due to fewer clubs starting in European competition).
In total, Ukraine has 5.7 points this season. Ukraine received 0.8 points for getting Shakhtar into the group stage of the Champions League (4 bonus points divided by all the same five clubs), 0.2 points for Dnipro’s exit from the Conference League group, the same amount for the Pitmen’s getting into the 1/8 finals League of Europe. Shakhtar brought Ukraine 1.6 points – wins against Leipzig and Rennes, two draws with Celtic, world matches with Real and Feyenoord. Dynamo has 4.5 points or 0.9 points in 12 games played (three wins and two draws). Dnipro earned 8 points or 1.6 points for Ukraine – three wins and two draws. Zarya and Vorskla brought 0.2 points each.
Among other mid-week indicators, we note that after the relegation of PSG, France had only one club left in this European Cup season out of six that started. This is the worst indicator for countries from the TOP-5.
