In the ninth game
Team of Ukraine lost for the first time under a head coach Alexandra Petrakova. Blue-yellows minimally lost Wales in the playoffs of the 2022 World Cup qualification in Qatar.
The only goal of the meeting was scored in the 34th minute, when, after Gareth Bale’s free-kick, Andriy Yarmolenko cut the ball into his own net.
It was Petrakov’s ninth game at the helm of the national team, and only his second as a full-time coach rather than acting. Before that, with three victories, Ukraine had drawn five times.
The blue-yellows will play the next match on June 8, when they will meet in Dublin with the Irish national team in the League of Nations. The start of the match is at 21:45.
After that, the Ukrainians will play with Armenia and Ireland in Lodz on June 11 and 14.
