Diniz defends Brazilian coach in the national team: “It’s not just tactics”

Fernando Diniz said in an interview that he is not against a foreigner in the Brazilian national team, but he prefers a Brazilian for reasons that go beyond tactics.

In an interview for SporTV selection, Fernando Dinizcurrently coach of Fluminense and who has a style of play loved by many, spoke about who could be the new commander of the Brazilian Team and stated that Brazilian football has plenty of qualified names, but he was not totally against a foreigner as coach of Brazil.

If you’re looking outside and being aware of what you’re going to look for, I think it’s ok, I’m not against absolutely anything. I would like it to be a Brazilian coach, who could be Dorival, Cuca, we have qualified people to take over the Brazilian national team.”

Diniz also revealed that in his opinion, a coach born in Brazil for the national team is fundamental much more because of tactics alone, since Brazilians already know how football works here and he also said that the relationship with a foreign coach it may be more difficult to narrow.

“If it were me, I would invest in a coach from here (Brazilian football), because dealing with the Brazilian national team is not just a tactic that you are supposed to look for abroad and you will arrive, you will implement it and everything will be fine, football is much more than that. Football is tactics, relationships, it’s getting to know the country you’re in. So I hope that everything is taken into account when choosing the new coach of the national team.”

The favorite name of CBF to take charge of the Brazilian national team is the Italian Carlo Ancelottiwho trains the Real Madrid currently and has plenty of baggage to be the coach of a team as heavy as Brazil’s. However, many still prefer that the coach of the Canarinho team is a Brazilian who knows the culture.
