Ukraine minimally lost to Wales and did not qualify for the World Cup

Wales scored the only goal after Yarmolenko’s own goal

In Cardiff, the final match of the play-offs of qualification ended on World Cup 2022 in Qatar. national team Ukraine lost Wales with a score of 0:1.

The only goal of the meeting was scored in the 34th minute, when, after Gareth Bale’s free-kick, Andriy Yarmolenko cut the ball into his own net.

Match referee Mateu Laos in the first half missed a penalty against Wales when Joe Allen hit Yarmolenko’s leg from behind in his own penalty area. The Spaniard refused to use the VAR system.

On June 1, Alexander Petrakov’s team beat Scotland (3:1) in the semi-finals of the qualification. The Wales national team had previously dealt with Austria (2:1).

At the World Cup in Qatar, Wales will play in the same group with England, the USA and Iran.
