FIGC cross-appeals against Juventus

Cross-appeal by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) to block access Juventus to the so-called “secret document” that their attorney sent to the COVISOC Serie A review panel in April 2021.

This week, former Juve directors Federico Cherubini and Fabio Paratici won an appeal to the arbitration tribunal and won the right to see the document.

The FIGC have repeatedly refused access to the document, arguing that it was not part of the investigation which resulted in a 15-point Serie A penalty for Juventus over the price of their players in order to obtain a higher profit from their subsequent sale (capital case of gain) and the deferral of payments to certain players in fiscal year 2020 that were not included in the balance sheet for that fiscal year (reporting anomaly).

Juventus lawyers hope the existence of the so-called ‘secret document’ will prove that COVISOC approached the FIGC for clarification on the Turin club’s finances. If this happens, then the procedure on their accounts was opened on April 21, 2021 and, therefore, the current legal procedure has exceeded the deadline, and any documents received after July 14, 2021 cannot be used against the Juventus.

Earlier, Juventus also filed another appeal against the 15-point penalty, hoping the whole lawsuit would be declared inadmissible.

Live broadcasts of matches of the Italian championship take place on the federal channel “”, the sites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
