Flamengo x Strength enter the field for the ninth round of the Brasileirão 2022. The match puts face to face two teams that want to climb the leaderboard. On one side, there is a Flamengo that started with an irregular campaign and occupies only the 8th position, and on the other is Fortaleza, which is the lantern of the championship and the only team that still hasn’t won.
After a bad start to the Brasileirão, Flamengo managed to pack two consecutive victories, against Goiás and Fluminense (of upset), and sketched a reaction. Still unable to prove himself under the command of Paulo Sousathe team has mixed good performances with some below expectations but is still alive in the fight for the three main competitions (Brasileirão, Copa do Brasil Libertadores).

Fortaleza, on the other hand, is experiencing a moment of crisis. Even having achieved a historic classification for the round of 16 of the Libertadores, the team of Juan Pablo Vojvoda is the only one that still hasn’t won the Brasileirão. Leão do Pici added only two points, drawing with Youth and Sao Pauloand lost the other six games, including the classic against Ceará, 1-0 in the last round.
In the retrospect of the clashes between the teams, it is Flamengo who takes the best, with 10 victories, against five of Fortaleza. In addition, there were still three other draws, adding up to a total of 18 duels played between them. The last time the teams faced each other was for the second round of the Brasileirão 2021, when the red-black won, 3-0, away from home.
