After a sequence of meetings, Vasco is seeking an agreement to pay off a debt worth more than R$ 20 million without suffering sporting sanctions
After a series of meetings with the CBFO Basquesought in recent months a solution to organize the payment of more than R$ 20 million in debt and protect itself from possible sporting punishments. Therefore, the club plans to pay off its debts in an interesting way and avoid a possible transferban, for example.
This week, Vasco received a green light from the Rio court of a request from the club to draw up a plan to pay the so-called “CNRD creditors”, with the CBF. In the civil sphere, the CNRD executes the club’s debts with other teams, with businessmen/intermediaries and also related to image rights of players and coaches.
The plan has already been presented to the court, which will analyze it to decide whether to approve it or not. While this process is still in progress, on a provisional basis, Vasco cannot suffer any type of sporting sanction, including the much-feared transferban. If the proposal is defined, the measure will be permanent.
Made by the legal department commanded by Gisele Cabrera, the planning includes 34 processes already executed, with an amount, updated in November 2022, of R$20,966,762.02. Among the contemplated debts, there are outstanding debts with players, intermediaries and other clubs.
At a time of change of direction and long-term planning, Vasco seeks to settle all its outstanding issues legally, but without affecting the current performance of the team. Therefore, it is normal to expect this more gradual form of payment, with installments and deadlines to be met. If the measures are not complied with, the Giant of the Hill may be exposed to some sanctions.
