Striker “Lokomotiv” Artem Dziuba told that he calmly reacted to the absence from the expanded Russian national team roster for March training camp.
Dziuba was not on the list of players called up to the national team for the training camp, which could include two friendlies. Russian national team head coach Valery Karpin said in an interview with that he would not call players over 30 years old. Later, a source clarified that Karpin’s lyrics were about outfield players.
Earlier, the RFU’s communication department told that the RFU and the Iranian Football Federation have agreed on the date for the national teams’ friendly match – March 23 in Tehran. In addition, the RFU communication service informed about the agreement reached on a meeting with Iraq on March 26 at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.

Dzyuba, along with Alexander Kerzhakov, shares first place in the list of top scorers of the Russian national team. The last time the 34-year-old Lokomotiv forward played for the national side under Stanislav Cherchesov in the European Championship in 2021, he tallied 55 appearances and scored 30 goals.
