Sudakov: We didn’t need to be tuned in. We went out, gave ourselves 100 percent – and this is the result

Midfielder of Shakhtar Georgy Sudakov commented victory over Kryvbas (3:0) in the match of the 17th round of the championship of Ukraine.

“Probably, the match was very difficult before the goal, but we played excellently. Everyone forgot about fatigue, were as tuned as possible and understood that in case of victory we would come out on top – our place, where we should always be. I think the result today was the most natural.”

“It seems to me that we didn’t even need to set up – everyone understood what kind of match it was. First of all, for three points in the championship. Dnipro-1 lost to Dynamo, and we understood that we only needed a victory. After we went through such a rather difficult path, it was important for the victory, first of all, to mentally prepare. And so it happened: we came out, gave ourselves 100 percent – and this is the result. ”

“As I said, we are in the first place – where we should be. Now it will be much easier to play: when you are in first place, and others are already behind you, then you do not need to catch up with anyone. Let them overtake us now, and the main thing for us is not to lose our points. And I hope that everything will be decided in the fight.”

In the match with Kryvbas, Sudakov scored the team’s first goal and an assist to Kelsey. This season, Georgiy has played 25 games for Shakhtar, scoring 3 goals and providing 9 assists.

The victory allowed Shakhtar to single-handedly lead the standings of the Ukrainian championship. The miners, having scored 39 points, are three points ahead of Dnepr-1, which is in second place. In the next round, on March 19, Shakhtar will host Rukh in a nominally home match.
