The Association believes that the decision of the court has no legal force
Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) commented on the decision of the Pechersk Court to extend the suspension of the President of the UAF Andrey Pavelko from the position.
“Information about the dismissal of UAF President Andrei Pavelko from his post is not true,” the UAF said in a statement.
“Today, a meeting was held to extend the temporary suspension of UAF President Andrei Pavelko from office. The court extended that deadline until May 13. However, the de-jure and de-facto continuation did not happen.”
“The court decision, which for the first time partially satisfied the prosecutors’ petition for the temporary suspension of Andrei Pavelko, has not entered into force! Since the judge has established a special procedure for its execution, the decision will enter into force only after an appeal to the appellate instance.”
“Andriy Pavelko, as well as UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky, appealed against the preliminary decisions of the court and today they continue to fulfill their official duties. The appeal proceedings are ongoing.”
“At the same time, the prosecutor could not initiate an extension of the suspension at all, since the previous decision did not enter into force, and the suspension period did not even begin. That is, in fact, there was nothing to continue.
Recall, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv extended the removal of Andriy Pavelko from his post until May 13, 2023. Earlier, the head of the UAF was removed from his post until March 17.
The President of the UAF filed an appeal against the decision. Later, information appeared that Pavelko withdrew his appeal to the court, but this was denied by the UAF.
Recall that the Kiev Pechersk Court appointed the head of the UAF a measure of restraint in the form of arrest for two months, until January 22, 2023. However, Pavelko had the opportunity to make a bail, which was used by the UAF, paying about 10 million hryvnias.
Pavelko, together with UAF Secretary General Yuriy Zapisotsky, is a defendant in a criminal case and received suspicions in a corruption case. The Moscow Court imposed a similar measure of restraint on Zapisotsky.
The UAF considers the entire process to be commissioned work from the former leaders of the association. At the same time, on October 18, a search was carried out in the house of the president of the organization. Pavelko denied conducting searches in his own house, but stressed that behind-the-scenes games “with a Russian trace” were being waged, the purpose of which was to remove the current leadership of the Association.
