Palmeiras defines contract model for renewal with Marcos Rocha

Palmeiras has already defined the terms of contract for Marcos Rocha, who has a contract until the end of the season, but has a chance to renew with the club until December 2024

O palm trees intends to renew contract with FramesRock, but the negotiation is not yet certain. According to “GOAL”, the club from São Paulo will evaluate the situation to extend the player’s bond based on the performance in the season. If it is satisfactory, the side can remain in Verdão until the end of 2024.

According to the “GOAL” portal, Palmeiras has already defined the terms of this negotiation, but the conversations should only be heated and, possibly, settled at the end of the season. To date, the parties to the business have stayed in touch and shown an interest in the renewal.

In addition to the bond extension, for another 12 months, the athlete’s salary would not change and would remain the same. Currently, the right-back earns around BRL 4.7 million per year. However, the only remaining question is how many games the veteran will play. Since arriving at the club, Marcos Rocha has averaged 47 matches per year.

Therefore, the use of the lateral will be crucial for the club to confirm its interest in renewing the athlete. If Palmeiras understands that Rocha continues to be an important part of the squad, managed by Abel Ferreirathe board will follow the plan outlined to count on the player for another season.

In 2023, Marcos Rocha has already entered the field on 11 occasions, all as a starter. Since arriving at the club in 2018, the player has taken over the position and has been a starter in the vast majority of titles won by Verdão in recent seasons. If the renewal is carried out, the athlete would have a contract with Palmeiras until he is 36 years old.
