The Ukrainian Premier League has decided to honor the fans of those who died as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to the press service of the UPL, the 18th round of the Ukrainian championship will be proclaimed as the Tour of Memory.
More than 160 fans died as a result of the attack by Kremlin troops. A fundraiser is also organized for the families of fallen fans.
“We want to emphasize again that we are all members of a big football family in Ukraine, and the family, as you know, is not left out of trouble.
The Ukrainian Premier League, together with the Tribune of Heroes Foundation, initiated an all-Ukrainian humanitarian action in support of the families of fallen soldiers who, in civilian life, were members of the fan movement of Ukrainian clubs.
The football family, every fan and football player, every club employee, every football journalist never forgets and honors the memory of their best sons who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our State.
Our football family is always there to comfort and ease the pain of losing departed Heroes to their families.
That is why the UPL is starting a new tradition – holding the “Tour of Remembrance”, where a large-scale fundraising, ceremonies honoring fallen Heroes and attending matches by the families of fallen soldiers are planned. The first “Tour of Memory” is the 18th round of the VBET League.
All matches will begin with a moment of silence in honor of more than 160 football fans who returned from the war “on the shield”. Every fan during the match, and every football club will be able to take part in the “Tour of Remembrance” as part of raising funds for the families of the fallen fans.
We hope that our humanitarian initiative will become a respectful tradition not only at the UPL, and then “Memory Tours” will be held at many European Championships.
