Cruzeiro wants to remove defender from Santos, but negotiation stalls

With an eye on the Serie A dispute, Cruzeiro started contacts to hire the experienced player, but has yet to receive a response from the Vila team

With an eye on the Serie A dispute, the cruise continues to seek reinforcements for the team commanded by Paulo Pezzolano. However, the negotiations have not been easy. With the desire to hire another defender for the squad, the board contacted the saints and sent a loan proposal to one of Santos’ defenders.

Its about Luiz Felipe, who is 29 years old and is not part of Santos’ plans for the year 2023. Internally, the defender asked to be negotiated with a Brazilian club. Thus, Cruzeiro appeared as the main interested party. This week, Fox sent the loan offer, but did not get the response he would have liked.

According to the portal “Uol Esporte”, Cruzeiro was irritated by Santos’ delay. On the other hand, the Vila team wants rivals to pay 80% of Luiz Felipe’s salary during the loan period. The condition is seen as unfeasible at Toca da Raposa. Thus, the negotiation between the clubs stopped, but the miners are still interested in the player.

Also according to the publication, Raposa’s first proposal for the loan of Luiz Felipe was for one season and with the payment of half the salary. The condition did not please Santos, who responded just a week after Cruzeiro’s offer. With the scenario rolled up, the negotiation has cooled down a lot and should no longer happen.

In any case, Cruzeiro wants to hire a defender and already seems to be eyeing new names for the squad. On the other hand, Santos wants to trade Luiz Felipe and two more players to cash in and manage to arrange the arrival of yet another great reinforcement. However, the clubs’ goal will not be achieved if it depends on the defender’s negotiation.
