Ex-CSKA goalkeeper Sergei Shepchugov considers the blow of his former partner in the Moscow club deserved Ilya Pomazun loaned for the Urals, to the final composition of the Russian national football team.

The RFU on Friday released the final line-up of the Russian national team for the March training camp, in which friendly matches against teams from Iran (March 23) and Iraq (March 26) are scheduled.

– When I was in the CSKA camp, Pomazun’s potential and talent were noticeable. Ilya worked very well in training under Sergei Ivanovich [Овчинникове]. We must pay tribute to him, CSKA let him go on loan. And then Ilya proved that he played confidently for the Urals, saving the team.

Pomazun has earned a call up to the national team with his game. It’s a good new experience for him. Good luck to him ! And let him feel the new atmosphere,” Chepchugov told Sport24.

Pomazun plays for Urals on loan from CSKA. The 26-year-old has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, conceding 36 goals and picking up five yellow cards.
