But the decision to leave was not a big news for Paulo Pezzolano, only for the fans and for those who followed Cruzeiro’s daily life. The coach revealed to journalists that his departure from Raposa had already been taken at the end of the 2022 season. a new commander for the remainder of 2023.

It’s not a hot decision. It was taken very coldly, very thoughtfully. The decision had already been taken since December with the management. (…) We decided to continue in the Mineiro Championship so that they can look for the best coach, not to put an interim one. We gave them time so they could make the path they had to make. Finding the best coach possible for Cruzeiro“, he completed.

Pezzolano revealed that he will not manage any other club in Brazil during the year 2023; coach said goodbye on social media!

They are saying that I can go to another Brazilian team. Do you call me? Yes, call me. Brazilian, Italian, Mexican, Middle Eastern teams call me, but my family and I are going to continue living here in BH, resting my head. From July, (we will) go somewhere, but if something arrives before that, it could happen. I promise the fans that this year I won’t work here in Brazil.

“I wouldn’t change Cruzeiro for another team in Brazil. What we experienced last year was very intense, very beautiful. I think it would be a lack of respect for the fans. Any team from Brazil can come and I won’t go“, he wrote.
