Athletistic/ Football. Former Spartak player Yuri Gavrilov has commented on midfielder Zelimkhan Bakaev’s transfer to Zenit.

“If he wants to, let him go. How he will succeed at Zenit, time will tell. At first, there will be a kind of aversion among the fans. It’s always like that. Every year, the players move from one club to another, looking for a good place for themselves and to play all the time. And Bakaev has recently been out only for replacements,” Gavrilov said.

On June 1, Bakaev left Spartak after the contract with the club expired. With the Red-Whites, he has played 105 matches in all competitions since 2015 (Bakaev spent the 2018/2019 season on loan at Arsenal in Tula), during which he scored 14 goals and provided 24 assists.

Bakaev’s contract with Zenit will be for three years with the possibility of a one-year extension.
