Sergey Anokhin, who left the post of head of the Moscow Football Federation (MFF), said that Alexander Startsev was worthy of a leadership position in the organization.
Startsev was elected Monday as IFF president at the organization’s general assembly. Anokhin announced in May that he had resigned as a member of the executive committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) due to cooperation with a bookmaker, and also left the post of head of the MFF.
— Thanks to Startsev and the team. Startsev is the driving force of the federation, he deserves an elevation in status. Please help him. I had the opportunity to go in terms of business. Of course, I didn’t miss it. I am very happy to see everyone, thank you all, – Anokhin told reporters.
Nikolai Pisarev, assistant coach of the Russian national team, thanked Anokhin for the work he had done.
– On behalf of the RFU, I would like to thank Anokhin for his work, during this period the federation gave players and coaches to clubs and teams, as well as judges. I wish the new president to improve the achievements of the former leader. There are successes,” Pisarev noted.
