– Of course, I followed the results of the Armenian team. Going to the World Cup would be a real sensation. For all of Armenia, it would be a public holiday, of course.
I haven’t watched full games, but I have seen game reviews. From what I’ve seen, I’ll single out Edik Spertsyan. I met him many times at youth level in Russia and later at adult level. I know this player very well. He stands out in the team. I really hope that in the near future he can leave for the top league in Europe.

– Of course, it’s a pity. Mkhitaryan is a big figure not only in Armenia but also in world football. He has played in many top championships, knows many languages, you can see from him that he is a very well-mannered and kind person. I would really like to play with Heinrich on the same football field, and even better in the same team. But, unfortunately, that probably won’t happen. It’s a shame he ended his career with the national team, I didn’t manage to meet him, but we’ll move on.
– According to you, the current composition of the Armenian national team has weakened considerably after the departure of Henri? Will Spertsyan be able to replace him entirely?
– After the leader leaves, any team encounters problems. It’s too early to say that someone will be able to fully replace Mkhitaryan. But if we talk about Edik, then he has it all. I’m sure if he continues like this he will get closer to Mkhitaryan’s level. Heinrich himself spoke about it and singled out Edik, only work will help him take a step forward,” Tiknizyan said.
Mkhitaryan has been playing for the Armenian national team since 2007 and has played 95 games for the national team, scoring 32 goals and providing 25 assists. In March 2022, the midfielder announced his retirement from the Armenian national team.
Spertsyan is 22 years old and made his debut for the Armenian national team on March 31, 2021. Due to the midfielder 13 games in the national team, scored three goals and one assist.
