After taking a strict measure this week, Flamengo bothered part of the media and has not yet explained the reasons for having taken such a decision.
At the end of this week, the Flamengo decided to enter into a new controversy by preventing one of the press teams from entering training. After having new information released about the fire in the vulture’s nestthe board barred the “Uol” portal in training and did not allow reporters to pass through the gate of the Flamengo CT.
Soon after the decision, “Uol” officially manifested itself and said it did not understand the reason for the decision. According to the portal, information about the fire was passed on to Flamengo leaders, who responded. The club’s responses were published on the website, but the situation seems to have displeased part of the Rubro-Negro leadership.
Through an official note published on its website, Flamengo explained the decision taken against the “Uol” team. According to the statement, the measure happened due to the new information released about the fire at Ninho do Urubu. In the view of the Rio de Janeiro club, the portal lied and was “irresponsible” for disclosing the news of the case.
“Clube de Regatas do Flamengo takes a position on its refusal to allow UOL’s daily coverage team to enter its Training Center. This decision is due to the fact that it was this same UOL team, responsible for the daily coverage of Flamengo, that produced the lying and irresponsible article, without any documentary evidence and divorced from all the evidence contained in the criminal process about the nest fire“.
“This article was published based solely on statements collected from a known opponent of Flamengo. A person who is being sued by Flamengo because he has previously made another false accusation. In this other case, when he was criminally charged to show any evidence about the complaint, he did not present anything.“.
UOL, when communicating Flamengo about the report it intended to do, purposely failed to inform about relevant points of the accusation that it would later publish, thus preventing the Club from being able to refute in detail, and with evidence, the lies drawn against it“.
