Athletistic/Football. UEFA has responded to a call by MEPs to withdraw the Belarus national team from official tournaments. The organisation’s president, Aleksander Čeferin, promised in a letter to parliamentarians to raise the issue at the next executive committee, according to the German website Sportschau, which received the football official’s response.

“UEFA intends to discuss the situation in Belarus at our next executive committee meeting. UEFA is closely following the worrying developments you mentioned in your speech,” Čeferin’s letter dated 24 March 2023 and sent to 100 members of the European Parliament is quoted as saying.
