Qatari investors to submit new bid for Manchester United over the weekend

Man Utd owners give go-ahead to prepare new proposal after announced deadline

Qatari investors led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani submit a new purchase order Manchester United on the weekend.

The deadline for submitting proposals expired last Wednesday, but Al Thani has formally asked for an extension of the deadline for his new application. The Manchester United board allowed the Qataris to work without setting a new deadline. At the same time, the club said that the application review process will continue on Tuesday, regardless of whether a second offer is received from Al Thani.

Recall that British businessman Jim Ratcliffe is also interested in acquiring Manchester United. Also at the last moment, Finnish businessman Thomas Zilliakus joined the fight.

Sources say the US owners are optimistic about selling the club for £6bn. It was previously reported that not everyone in the Glazer family wants to make a deal.

Earlier, the board of directors of Manchester United announced the sale of the club in whole or in part through large external investments. United’s owners, the Glazers, are looking to finalize the deal in the first quarter of 2023.
