The group stage of Libertadores 2023 will start and this Monday, 27th, from 9 pm (Brasília time), the groupings will be defined; see details
The group stage draw of the Libertadores 2023 will take place this Monday, the 27th, at 9 pm (Brasília time), and Brazilian clubs will meet their next opponents in the most desired competition in South America. 32 clubs will participate in this initial phase of the championship, which will be divided into eight groups, with four members in each.
It is worth noting that teams from the same country cannot be placed in equal groups, except for clubs that came from the playoff phase of Libertadores de América. In this case, only Atlético-MG will be able to fall into a group that has another Brazilian team. In the others, the teams classified by Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil will not be able to face each other at the beginning of the competition.
It is important to remember that, in addition to Atlético-MG, Brazil will have six more representatives in the Libertadores group stage. apart from the rooster, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Athletico-PR, Internacional, Corinthians and Fluminense will also be in contention for the continental title. Still in time, it is worth noting that there is a chance that some Brazilians like Timão, Colorado and Tricolor face teams like River Plate and Boca Juniors still in the group stage.
This can happen, as the trio is in pot 2 and is not seeded. Meanwhile, the two Argentine giants are in pot 1 and, therefore, there may be a confrontation between Brazil and Argentina. Apart from River Plate and Boca Jrs, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Athletico-PR, Nacional-URU, Olímpia and Independiente del Valle are also in this first pot.
