Messi is the first Argentine in 80 years to score 5 goals in a game for the national team

National team Argentina beat Estonia with a big score in a friendly match which took place in Spanish Pamplona. The match ended with the score of 5:0. All five goals were scored by the Argentina captain Lionel Messi .

Messi has become only the third Argentine in history to score 5 goals for the national team in one game. In 1941 Juan Marvessi scored a penta-trick against Ecuador, and in 1942 Juan Manuel Moreno scored five goals against the same Ecuadorians.

Messi, 34, has 86 goals for the national team. According to this indicator, he took a clear 4th place, overtaking the Hungarian Ferenc Puskas (84th). The leader is Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 117 goals for the Portuguese national team.
