President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Diukov told that the option of holding the two-match Russian Super Cup is possible if the Russian season schedule allows.
The Russian Supercup has been held since 2003. In the match for the trophy, the champion and the winner of the country’s Cup meet. The location of the meeting is determined by the RFU Executive Committee after the stadiums have submitted the applications. Kazan is in contention for the 2023 Super Cup.
– Is the option considered in which the participants of the Russian Super Cup will play two matches – home and away?
– Maybe. If the calendar allows it, then yes. This format is also possible, Dyukov told .
