The leadership of the Donetsk club continues to fight the case with the contracts of the legionnaires belonging to the Pitmen.

The miner continues to seek justice in FIFA’s decision on the club’s legionnaires. Recall that a year ago, the International Football Federation allowed foreign players to unilaterally terminate contracts with the Pitmen and conclude agreements with other clubs.

Earlier, the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected all the claims of the Donetsk team, fully accepting FIFA’s arguments. Now the miner has filed a complaint with the European Commission.

“It is completely legal and fair to file this complaint with the EU Commission, as FIFA’s actions violate EU competition law.

The extreme measures taken by FIFA have resulted in a significant loss of player transfer revenues and a drain on the club’s core income of around €40 million.

As a club, we have experienced the bias and injustice inherent in football’s international legal system, a process that lacks fairness and transparency and is clearly not worth it. FIFA has established a system where it can influence the outcome of the decisions of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which is why we call on international football to come together and reform the legal procedures and governance standards of our sport .

We hope that the European Commission will understand and appreciate the severe financial pressure our club is under due to the actions of FIFA, while our country is being destroyed by an illegal war. Even in these most tragic and desperate times, football offers relief and we, as a Ukrainian club, hope that we will be allowed to function normally to bring joy to our fans, players and our families,” Shakhtar said in a statement.
